ARTEGO’s history goes back to 1975 when The Industrial Unit for Technical Rubber Items and Reclaimed Rubber was built on the Northern platform of Târgu-Jiu. At the beginning, the unit focused on recycling reclaimed rubber. As years went by, our company had already started manufacturing a wide range of products and had strengthened its economic growth.
In 1990 The Industrial Unit for Technical Rubber Items and Reclaimed Rubber became a Joint Stock Company and received the trademark name ARTEGO.
 
Nowadays, ARTEGO is a well-established and respected corporation. All departments have been upgraded and equipped with cutting edge German, French, Hungarian, Czech, Slovakian and Romanian technology to ensure greatly improved engineered products. The company employs about 2000 people and is capable of manufacturing over 2000 items/products. Whether it is “O Rings” or Conveyor Belts for mining and exploitation installations, our products have certified quality and durability. 3.    CONVEYOR BELTS. Mining installations and other industries around the world employ the use of conveyor belts. We offer a wide variety of conveyor belts as follows:

-flame resistant conveyor belts with textile insertions;

-normal rubber plates and carpets, for general use in applications that do not require special properties for the material;
-rubber plates and carpets with insertions, for added strength and durability;
-rubber plates and carpets which are antistatic and resistant to oil products, for use in applications which involve exposure to oil and petroleum products;
-antistatic and flame resistant rubber plates and carpets, for applications that require direct exposure to heat and open flames;
-rubber matting, for general use;
-electrically insulated rubber plates and carpets, for environments where static electricity discharges are a constant threat to the safety of the working site;
-colored rubber plates and carpets, for general use;
-rubber plates and carpets with patterns and models, for a variety of uses;

-oil resistant gaskets, engineered with a blend of materials which ensures oil-proofing and durability;
-flame resistant and antistatic discharge-proof gaskets, for installations that require increased resistance to open flames and electricity; 
-metallic armature gaskets, for added rigidity and strength;

12. BAKERY PRODUCTS. Fresh bakery products leave the factory every day to be distributed to local businesses or stay within the confines of the factory to be distributed to workers. The health of workers is a constant concern for our company.

13. SERVICES. We offer belt splicing services at the mining sites. Our teams of experts are always on standby to address any requests from our clients.

Our latest accomplishments include Chevron belts, 2000 mm to 2250 mm steel cord belts, 2000 mm to 2500 mm textile insertion belts, temperature resistant belts, white food grade rubber carpets, patterned technical plates and carpets. Most of these products have been manufactured in Romania for the first time and are protected by patent laws.

The rise in export demands is but recognition of the quality of our products and of the ARTEGO trademark. We currently export conveyor belts, technical plates, carpets and gaskets to: Italy, The United States Of America, Israel, England, Greece, The United Arab Emirates, Holland, France, Finland and Spain.

Efforts have been made to acquire new technologies consisting in cutting edge, computer-controlled, French vulcanization equipment which ensures the rendering of high-quality products.
